Alnmouth on Foot
Alnmouth is the ideal base for walkers. There is a guidebook of 6 Self-Guided trails available from shops in the village. The walks are of varying distance, taking in both coast and country. They vary in length from an easy 3/4 mile walk around Alnmouth to a more strenuous walk of 11 miles. You can buy the Walking Guide in Puffin Stores & Post Office and The Aln Gift Shop.
To and from Alnmouth Station
The route to and from the station (now called 'Alnmouth for Alnwick), takes about 20 minutes on foot but with luggage about 30 minutes as it has a slope leading up to and down from the station.
Local taxi firms will pick up and drop off and the bus route takes you either to Alnwick or Ashington via Alnmouth.
If you are going to Alnmouth please make sure you catch the X18 to Ashington/Morpeth/Newcastle as the other bus stop takes you into Alnwick. For more details on buses please click the link to our Bus information site. It's advisable to book a private taxi in advance.
