Part-Time Parish Clerk / Responsible Finance Officer
Would you like to be more involved in village life? Are you interested in Local Government? Are you able to work flexible hours from home? Alnmouth Parish Council is looking to recruit a Parish Clerk / Responsible Financial Officer (RFO) with effect from xxxxx
The role involves working with Councillors: setting agendas, minuting meetings, producing reports, dealing with correspondence, administering finances, and keeping the parish website up to date. The successful applicant will have excellent communication, administrative, organisational and IT skills.
You will be required to attend the monthly Parish Council meetings which are on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.
This role is currently 30 hours a month. The Clerk/Responsible Finance Officer (RFO) is a paid position based on national (NJC) scales and the starting salary will be commensurate with the applicant’s experience.
Previous experience as a parish clerk and membership of the SLCC would be an advantage. Any training needed will be provided. The incoming Clerk will work in tandem with the retiring Clerk for the month of August to ensure a smooth handover and will take on the role fully from 1st September 2022.
